Lead Occupational Therapist
Permanent | Full time role based in Durham.
Salary: up to £51,000 per annum.
Our well established client are looking for a Lead Occupational Therapist to join their team on a permanent basis.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Provide clinical, professional and operational leadership to the Occupational Therapy (OT) service.
- Take a lead role in the development, implementation and review of local policies and procedures required to deliver high quality, evidence based occupational therapy service.
- Be a source of knowledge and expertise regarding Occupational Therapy Services, relatives and colleagues of all disciplines both within the site.
- Manage and co-ordinate the delivery of occupational therapy services on a day to day basis.
- Lead and participate in clinical work and to promote a high standard of expertise within the OT department, and to ensure these standards are maintained by all staff.
- Undertake specialist clinical assessments where required for the relevant service lines provided for example Sensory assessments.
- Oversee student placements within the OT team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- HCPC registered.
- BSC or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Appropriate clinical post graduate courses completed.
- Broad experience post qualification with significant experience in acute sector clinical OT.
- Experience of supervising/teaching under and post graduate staff.
- Inpatient experience (where leading inpatient therapy teams).
